Teaching Abroad Testimonials
“Matt Cankar's knowledge of South Korean teaching institutions is beneficial to anyone looking to get a competitive contract [And explore Overseas Teaching Opportunities]. Matt has helped me secure extra work as a part time instructor at two schools, both of which are reputable and reliable at paying on time.
From personal experience, I have found Matt eager to tackle contractual negotiations between academy owners and prospective employees. Overall, I highly recommend contacting Matt for job opportunities. You won't be disappointed!”

”Teaching English in South Korea is a unique experience of a lifetime. In the "Land of the Morning Calm", the culture from food, to language, to religion and mind-set is fascinating.
Everyday is different and whether you teach children, teenagers or adults, job satisfaction is very high. Witnessing students’ progress in their English ability as a direct result of your presence in their lives is unforgettable. The low cost of living offset to the high salaries for teaching English makes South Korea a particularly lucrative place to live and earn money.
Matt did an amazing job [with exploring my overseas teaching opportunities] helping me out with my quest to find a job here. He worked hard to secure me a deal I was happy with. He took all my requests into consideration - location, hours, etc. and excelled himself when it came to negotiating my salary. I was very pleased with the position he found for me and with his attitude to work. He was particularly efficient at keeping me involved at all times. I would definitely recommend his company [and was happy to give this teaching abroad testimonial].”

I just recently moved to South Korea to begin my adventure as an English teacher thanks to the help from Jason Bernabei and Matthew Cankar through Teach Abroad Now. Before meeting with these two men, I never thought teaching and moving overseas was an actual possibility for me. I was worried about signing the wrong contract or being taken advantage of since I have no prior experience in seeking overseas employment.
After meeting with Jason, a whole new world of opportunities opened up for me. He took the time to explain all the pros and cons about moving overseas and answered any of my questions and concerns to me to make sure I was ready to make such a move. Once my decision to go was made Jason handled, notarized, and sent out all of the required paperwork for me to expedite the process. Mind you, I was not even in the country to take part while he did this!! He went out of his way to find the best possible job, salary, and contract for me and to make sure I am comfortable and happy here in Korea. I am still amazed at how easy he made the transition to go from state side all the way to South Korea.
Once arriving in Korea, Matt went out of his way to come meet me, check out my school, and show me around town. Matt introduced me to many different Korean dishes that I enjoy eating and even helped me get a bus pass and explain how to use the public transportation system. He took me all over the city of Daegu just so I know where to go and meet people and to limit my possibility of getting lost. I am confident Matt is here to answer any of my questions or concerns during my entire stay and am happy to have someone like him looking after me being so far from home. He has gone above and beyond for me and is just great!
I would not be living this life altering adventure today with such confidence if it were not for Matt and Jason. Thank you Teach Abroad Now!

“Teaching in Korea certainly isn't for everyone. If you are going to live here, you'd better be ready to experience things that are very different from your home country. Personally, I love it! Korean food, Korean culture, the scenery and traditional architecture, when I first arrived everything made my head spin, but now I call this country home.
Teaching and living in Korea was a life-altering experience. It is a part of my past that I will always remember and treasure. The culture is unique, fascinating and advanced. The ability to have a rewarding job teaching English while also saving substantial amounts of money each month was impressive. Learning about the Korean culture while also sharing aspects of my culture was a great way to bond with the students. Hearing them speak English always put a smile on my face! If you want to live in a modern society with distinct ties to its past, make and save a good amount of money, and have a rewarding job, Korea is the way to go!
Matt Cankar has earned my trust, and the right to be highly
recommended. I worked with and for Matt in Korea for over a year. His
consistent actions and words demonstrated personal commitments to:
professionalism, the value of education/knowledge, and a deep concern
for the experience of teachers in Korea (both economic and personal).
